NYC Smooch Proof 16 HR Lip Stain Swatches & Review

L-R: Forever Fuchsia, Rock on Ruby, Forever Mine Wine, Smooch Proof, Forever Freesia

Besides these NYC lip stains, I've tried the Maybelline and Revlon lip stains(The one with the balm on one end,) and I've got to say these NYC ones are my favorite.

They do leave a stain throughout the whole day but as hours pass by, the color on your lips isn't as vibrant as it was when you first applied it. They're pretty hard to remove, so I find myself needing an oil-based makeup remover to remove these.

They're pretty drying, as most, if not all lip stains tend to be; Nothing that a lip balm can't fix. Also, they have a fruity candy scent, which I enjoy.

Price: $4.99

I managed to take a photo of my lips one day when I was wearing Forever Freesia.

Review: The Balm Blush/Shadow in Frat Boy

Frat Boy is a peachy apricot shade that doubles as a blush and eyeshadow. It's a really smooth blush/shadow. It's pigmented and easy to blend. I really love the blushes from The Balm; They retail for $21 which is pretty pricey. So I recommend checking out Hautelook when they have a sale on The Balm products. I definitely think they're worth checking out.

Review on a Permanent Eyeliner?!

Hi everyone! So today, I am doing a review on the Marbella Permanent Eyeliner Pen. This is one of those eyeliner pens that have a marker-like felt tip.
Their claims:
  • Smudge-proof color, waterproof formula won't smear, smudge or fade for more than 24 hours.
  • Smooth formula glides on with the ease of a pencil and the color intensity of a liquid liner.
  • Felt tip easily glides to create delicate to dramatic lines to emphasize your eyes with precision.
  • 100% Natural formula is dermatologist-tested and safe hypo-allergenic.
  • Easily removes with any makeup cleanser, just rub eye gently with cleanser until the line is gone.
  • Duo Tip, turn the tip around and use the other end of the tip as a new pen.
I was so excited to try this when I read the word "permanent" on it. On the Marbella website, they actually call this the "semi-permanent" eyeliner, because of course, it's not actually permanent. But it just says "permanent" on the packaging. The two shades they have are brown and black; I have the black shade.

Price: $19

The Application
The first thing I noticed when I applied this was that it wasn't an intense black color. I personally love really black eyeliners but this wasn't one of them.

The eyeliner pen is easy to work with. I find that it glides on smoothly. I personally only strictly use eyeliner pens when it comes to my upper eyelids because those are the easiest and most long lasting for my oily lids.

The Wear
I have oily lids, so the wear of an eyeliner is the number one factor I look for. This claims to be smudge-proof and I completely disagree. This eyeliner definitely and sadly smudged on my oily lids.

Okay, so the removal part is the final step that I want to talk about with you all. If you don't use an effective oil based or waterproof eye makeup remover, this leaves the eyeliner stain on your lids.
- Easy to work with
- Doesn't irritate my eyes (They claim that they used 100% natural/organic ingredients but I cannot find a list of the ingredients anywhere.)
- Not very intense in terms of pigmentation (maybe because it's organic)
- Smudges if you have super oily eyelids like I do
- Leaves eyeliner mark/stain if you don't have an effective eye makeup remover

Overall, I do not recommend this product, especially if you tend to get oily eye lids. As for those of you that don't have issues with oily eyelids, I still wouldn't recommend this because there are honestly better eyeliners out there that are cheaper. Also, if you don't have oily eyelids, I don't think you would need a semi permanent eyeliner anyways. The name seems like it's geared more towards people with oily eyelids and that have issues with smudging. Even in terms of the pigmentation, if you like really black eyeliners, this isn't it for you.

Hopefully you all enjoyed my personal review on this. If you tried this and liked it or not, I'd definitely want to hear your input on it. I know a lot of girls set their eyeliner with black eyeshadow, but I can't do that because when my eyes are open, my upper eyelid folds hit each other, making my eyeshadow smudge all the way to the crease of my eye lids. Also, I definitely want to know your eyeliner recommendations.

Favorite Face Makeup

Do you hate cakey-looking makeup? I do! I've tried different foundations and powders that tend to make me look cakey. Despite having super oily skin throughout the day, when I look in the mirror, I would see that my makeup looked cakey. I would always think that the natural oils on my face would reduce that cakey makeup look, but I was wrong.

So when I found the perfect face makeup products that actually worked with my skin, I knew I had to share them with you all. I've been loving this face makeup combo for a while now. These are my go-to products that I can rely on when I want beautiful, natural looking makeup.

Loreal Paris Studio Secrets Professional Magic Perfecting base is a great primer for helping my liquid makeup apply smoothly. When I have dry patches from my healing blemishes, this primer is a life saver. It prevents my makeup from sticking to the dry patches. I learned from using this for a while now that a little goes a long way. So this is one of those products that when used, less is more. Price: $12.99
Sasatinnie Precious Jewelry BB Cream gives me great coverage without looking cakey! This gives me a medium coverage and does a great job in evening out my skin tone. Due to all the cakeyness that liquid makeup tend to give me, I was about to give up on liquid makeup until I discovered this product. Price: $15.20
An alternative that I equally love is Missha M perfect cover bb cream!

 Last, but not least,
E.L.F.'s Mineral Booster in Sheer is the only powder I want to use over my liquid foundations or bb creams from now on, or until I find another great product like it. This is my 2nd or 3rd one. When I put other powders to set my liquid or cream makeup, they tend to make me look cakey. This powder, however, doesn't do that. It makes my skin look nice and natural while setting my makeup. Price: $5.00

Here's E.L.F.'s claims on the product from their website:
"Achieve the ultimate, translucent "photo finishing touch" to your makeup, our Mineral Booster melts into your skin, infusing it with key vitamins A, B and E to promote healthier skin that’s noticeably silkier and smoother. Completely sheer and ideal for all skin tones, Mineral Booster gently absorbs oil and minimizes the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and pores for a beautiful even finish. Wear alone or buff over our Mineral Concealer and Foundation to lend extra staying power and to achieve a professional and stunning porcelain matte look that will last all day."

Overall, I can use these products all together or separately, either way, they're all individually great products that are a must in my makeup routine. They make my skin look nice and all natural, when in reality, I'm wearing makeup.

Review & Swatches of Milani Baked Blush in Dolce Pink

Dolce Pink is a shimmery pink blush.

Price: $7.49

My thoughts: When I swatch this onto my hand, it looks like a light pink blush with shimmers. On my face, it looks more like a coral shade. I was afraid to use this on my face due to the shimmers, but when applied on my face, I don't notice the shimmers very much unless I look up close. It gives more of a nice glow to the face. It's not very pigmented but it's easily buildable, so I find this blush easy to work with since I tend to use a heavy hand with blushes. I used this at most, for 9 hours, and I can say it does last that long.

This is what I mean when I said you can't really see the shimmers when it's applied on my face.

I hope you all enjoyed my review or found it helpful.
If you tried any of the blushes from Milani's baked blush line, feel free to share your thoughts. ^_^ I'd love to know your thoughts about them.
